About Me

Hi – I’m Thaxton and I’m a bit of a nerd.  I grew up in the 80s and 90s fascinated with computers and technology of all sorts (A/V, networking, software, etc).  Most of my after-college employment has been in the technology space and I finally decided it’s time to document whatever random knowledge I’ve acquired over the years instead of leaving it spread out over years and years of buried folders and lost notes.

I graduated from college with a Computer Science degree in 2002 (probably not the best timing).  I started off contracting, got a job as a consultant, joined a financial services firm for a few years, switched over to a big blue technology company, then returned to financial services on the IT side.

I currently live in Charlotte, NC with my wife and two boys.  I’m a technical lead for an IBM BPM platform at a large financial services company.  I’ve been in the process management and automation space for pretty much my whole career.  I spend a lot of time with off-shore resources and a distributed team of peers and managers.

In my free-time I try to keep the kids from destroying the house, make Target runs, work in the yard and run.  I enjoy a wide variety of musical genres, mostly sci-fi/fantasy/comic book films and TV shows, and a good book when I find the time.
